albatrosdva Posted July 1, 2022 Share #1 Posted July 1, 2022 While not strictly military it seems an appropriate "home front" piece so I hope you all don't mind my posting. This apron belonged to my great great grandmother Anna Maria Williams (born 1848) who married Henry Ewing Hale in 1867. It's pretty small but not so small that I would think 75th anniversary of independence. It strikes me that she could have been a young teen and they did live near Washington. I wonder if this could have been worn at Lincoln's inauguration? No way of knowing for sure but an interesting piece of Americana. Hope you enjoy.
