WWII 5th MAC shoulder patch: unfamiliar variant

Here is an image of a 5th Marine Amphibious Corp shoulder insignia I have come across. Is anyone familiar with this variation (I am not).

Looks like sewn on twill(ribbed cotton)

 

you see them in twill, wool felt  and full embroidered for US made variations

Yes, the US manufacturing variations  (Embroidered /felt,  Embroidered/ twill and Full Embroidered of US manufacture) I am familiar with. I should have emphasized this style of alligator in my initial post. This style of alligator/crocodile  is different than any of my variations. However as my variations only range from the full embroidered to embroidered felt and I dont have a twill version, perhaps that is why I am unfamiliar with this variation. I have come across this variation and again it is embroidered on twill.
