Pretty sure this is a fake. What do y’all think could be real on the helmet.

The liner suspension, minus the yokes look original, the leather liner chinstrap looks good. The sweatband is a euro clone, everything else is no good. Looks like a clever display helmet, the 12-99 might be when it was restored.

I agree. By a guy named Dick Hos based on what we found online.

The feet of the bales clearly are not original. The date and initials by them indicate that the helmet is display piece of some sort and that the individual who created it wanted to make it obvious that the helmet was not an original. Also, the liner does not appear to be an Inland, ruling it out as authentic as well.

It's an IMP liner refurbished to represent an Inland liner, so it's not a genuine WWII paratrooper liner in that regard. IMP never made paratrooper liners. That all being said, as a reenactor or display piece, it's a nice looking helmet.

Correct. Just making sure we keep the real items from the helmet. Wasn’t sure if the chin cup was good.

Just so we’re all on the same page, the chin cup is fake as well correct?

It's modified from a WW2 Navy "talker" helmet chin cup.
