Corporal Chester, 3rd Brigade 1st Armored Division Bulldog mascot

Here is an article published in the Stars and Stripes in 1987 in Ansbach, Germany about Corporal Chester the full blooded Belgian Bulldog and mascot for 3rd Brigade, 1st Armored Division.

 

Since the Division moved to Ft Bliss, Texas in 2009, we have had a few replacements of "Chester" but the tradition continues.

 

I will try to find a recent image of Chester, who I think has been since promoted to Sergeant..

 

You may read in this article that Corporal Chester received a "suspended bust" from the Brigade Commander due to bending the rules a bit and being "Absent from place of Duty"...
