26th Inf. Scout Dog Plt. Tab. Korean Made?

It would seem to be when compared to the standard (US made?) tab. The 26th Inf. Scout Dog Platoon was the only active Scout Dog Platoon to fight in the Korean war. The US Army was in the process of training additional platoons when the hostilities ceased.

Here is what I assume would be referred to as the standard tab (US made)?

26th ISDP (Group 2) veteran Phillip Little still has his shirt with patch/tab on it. Seems to be the same tab as above.

Myron Horn (also Group 2) wearing tab over 25th ID patch. I have seen the tab worn with 2nd ID, 3rd ID, and 25th ID patches. 

 

The dog is his Scout Dog DUFFY.

Thanks Leigh. It's a tough area to collect (hard to find) but I really enjoy it. 

 

If I had to guess, I would say this is a fake but could be wrong. Perhaps someone here is familiar with it.

IMO (FWIW) the tabs shown in posts 1-3 are all JM. #6 is a repro. Almost looks current VN made.

I kind of thought of that too (Japanese made) but wasn't sure. Would certainly make sense though. 

 

As I looked around to find images of others I couldn't find any (so far).

 

Is this tab a hard one to find?

Absolutely tough to find, especially being the only such unit.
