Are these Dog Handlers Marines?

My gut tells me they are but may be no way to know for sure. The man on the left seems to be wearing an Army HBT shirt. But it was seem that some Marine Dog Handlers wore these also. (see below photo of Marine Dog Handlers on Iwo Jima). They seemed to have worn a variety of different utilities, many/most without the USMC stencil. 

 

The other thing that makes me think they are Marines is the Dobermans. All Army Handlers in the PTO (that I have seen photos of) all tended to favor German Shepherds.

Marine Dog Handlers on Iwo.

It seems they are marines based off the guy on the left due to his wool shirt pockets being pointed. And it looks like the HBT jacket is navy which was supplied to marines quite often when P41 supplies were low.
