RegularsByGod Posted June 4, 2022 Share #2 Posted June 4, 2022 Private Thomas Gula Serial Number 42018547 was Killed In Action on June 23, 1944 while a member of Company H 22nd Infantry 4th Infantry Division. Company H was the heavy weapons Company of 2nd Battalion 22nd Infantry. His date of assignment to the 22nd Infantry could not be found. However, the Morning Reports of Company H for June 1944 indicate that on June 13, 1944, 31 Enlisted Men were assigned as replacements to Company H from the 4th Infantry Division replacement pool, and Gula's name is not among them. Therefore, he was already with the Company, and made the landing on Utah Beach on D-Day, in the second assault wave at about 1000 hours.
