Greenfield Posted May 14, 2022 #1 Posted May 14, 2022 Good morning, My first excursion into the world of US campaign medals; my usual area being British and Commonwealth medals. I am researching a World War 2 US soldier who was inducted into the Army on 2 Feb 43 and entered into service in the 4286th QM Railhead Company on 9 Feb 43. He embarked for Europe on 10 Apr 44. Would his period of service in the US entitle him to the American Campaign medal? His Enlisted Record and Report of Separation form shows he entitled to three bronze service stars on his EAMAT medal.: Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. The Unit Citation and Campaign Participation Register – Change 4 dated 4 Jun 62 shows that the 4286th is also entitled to Northern France. Is it possible that my man is entitled to four service stars? Regards, Terry

Greenfield Posted May 19, 2022 Author #3 Posted May 19, 2022 Yes I had seen the Wikipedia entry and to my mind that would suggest he is eligible. I thought there might have been an official document. Thank you for the response. Regards, Terry
