I got this 5” patch in a grouping from a WW2 Hellcat pilot. He flew in VF-33 and later in VF-86. Has anyone out there seen this patch?

Not any doubt as to the identity of this patch- Naval Aviation Base, Atlanta 1942.

From the same estate grouping, a black & white photo of a patch with markings on the back “Sep 10 1944, Squadron Insignia VF86”

This Naval Aviator was quite an artist. I wonder if he designed Squadron Insignia. Hand drawing of VF-38 along with a VF-38 decal.

If anyone on the Forum has the books Dictionary of US Naval Aviation Squadrons, would you mind checking if this WW2 patch is identified there. Many thanks in advance.
