Fifty-Fourth Congress, Sess. I, 2 May 1896 authorizing a change in the design of the ribbon. A bowknot (rosette) was adopted to be worn in place of the medal. The ribbon and bowknot (rosette), legally recognized and prescribed by the President, was communicated in War Department Orders dated 10 November 1896.

Does anyone have a picture reference to this "Ribbon and Bowknot"?

Thank you!

This is the Army Type II Medal of Honor, authorized from 1896 to 1906.

Thanks so much for your time, I exhausted the google search looking for this. When did a MOH ribbon bar become the standard ?

The stars on the light blue field were introduced with the 1904 revision of the Medal of Honor. The ribbon bar came out at the same time.
