aefcav Posted May 5, 2022 Share #1 Posted May 5, 2022 Fifty-Fourth Congress, Sess. I, 2 May 1896 authorizing a change in the design of the ribbon. A bowknot (rosette) was adopted to be worn in place of the medal. The ribbon and bowknot (rosette), legally recognized and prescribed by the President, was communicated in War Department Orders dated 10 November 1896. Does anyone have a picture reference to this "Ribbon and Bowknot"? Thank you!

Allan H. Posted May 6, 2022 Share #4 Posted May 6, 2022 The stars on the light blue field were introduced with the 1904 revision of the Medal of Honor. The ribbon bar came out at the same time. Allan
