I think this one is either an usaf or usn patch. Its around 5 inches long and japanese made.

Somewhere I saw this ID'd as a 388th Electronic Combat Sq. morale patch. Hence the added bolts. That doesn't mean t's correct as I have never found proof, but it's a possibility maybe.

VAH-2 is close. I've seen the patch in question at some point in the recent past, but I just can't put my finger on it.

Some VS-38 patches do have the lightning bolt.  

It's the gold griffin that's wrong, should be red.  Yokota may be on the right track with the VAH-2 patch

I bought a patch just like this one in 1973 at Fort Devens, MA.  It was the emblem for the Army Security Agency.
