Small plastic toy soldiers

Recently I have seen pictures of the small plastic soldiers we all used to have as children. It looks like the detail in these new versions is really nice. Does anyone here collect these figures? If so, what brand would you recommend? I have seen some made by BMC Toys.

I have basic knowledge on the older plastic toys especially Marx play sets and German Elastolin.

I have some of the older ones from my childhood.  I am interested in the modern versions being sold today. From what I have seen in pictures, the detail quality looks really good.  Could be a different story in person.

Sorry Kat I can’t help with that.

 

Any soldiers made after the early 1970s I have very limited or no knowledge.

Kat it depends on the scale your interested in….if it’s 1:72 scale I reference this site http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/  to keep current on what’s out there

 

Conte makes or made some great 1:32  figures although I am not sure if their still in business

Plastic Platoon produces some great 1:32 figures as well…but since their out of Russia, I think they will no longer be available…some leftover stock is at:

Thanks so much for the info! These sure are a lot more expensive than the bags of Army men from my childhood! Hahaha!
