US made doughboy helmet with unknown "hand" insignia...thoughts?

This came in a rather large collection of headgear.  I know it is not a 'bloody hand' 93rd Division insignia, wrong colors, background shape etc.  But what is it?  Shell has remnants of some odd subdued colors like greenish and tan.  Liner and strap present but beat up a bit.  Is this some AEF insignia I am unfamiliar with or a fantasy thing or what?

Yeah, that looks exactly like the 93rd "Bloody Hand", but yellow???
