easterneagle87 Posted April 18, 2022 #1 Posted April 18, 2022 Celebrated our 34th anniversary this past weekend by taking my wife away and ticking off one of her bucket list items with a whale watching trip out of Moss Landing, CA. Totally awesome trip with Blue Ocean Whale Watching with Capt. Kate. Great weather and we were practically surrounded by humpback whales. Even though this was an "us" trip, it wouldn't have been complete without me being able to do a little "junking". Antique stores in Santa Cruz were pretty much dry holes. So after our trip and on the way out, I stopped into J&S Surplus right there in Moss Landing to do a little digging. Of course my wife would say, "you knew EXACTLY where to stop". Long story short, you got to sift some rocks and sand to find a nugget and I think I did. In the bottom of their loose patch bin - an old footlocker - I found this single LTC oak leaf. White outlined, black embroidered on twill. Am I total wrong to throw out there, that I've pretty much only seen these being worn, in-country, in Vietnam era photos? So is it Vietnam made or Vietnam era?
VMI88 Posted April 18, 2022 #2 Posted April 18, 2022 Believe these are Thai made - you usually see them on Vietnam-era Air Force uniforms.
