flightmac Posted April 18, 2022 Share #1 Posted April 18, 2022 Can anyone shed some light on a canopy I picked up? It's marked: CANOPY ASSEMBLY PERSONNEL PARACHUTE LARGE ORIFICE 35 FT. DIA. P/N 68147-7 SERIAL NO. USAF 82-008547 MILLS MFG. CORP. DATE OF MFR. SEP 1982 F41608-82-C-0593 DATE PLACED IN SVC M21 I don't have a place to stretch it out because of it's size, but there's netting around the bottom. And some of the lines seem to attach to narrow strips of the fabric. I take it that's because there are large openings (orifices) on the bottom. Thanks. mohawkALSE Posted April 18, 2022 Share #2 Posted April 18, 2022 From the size sounds like an MC-1-1 but I cant seem to find that PN you listed. Most parachute stuff part numbers start with 11-1-

Still couldn't find a direct match for it, but the part number 68K147 comes up in a section of materials for the T-10B parachute which is 35 ft Dia. I can tell you yours was a USAF contract not only from the USAF mentioned there but the contract starting with F is a USAF contract number.
