USS Thresher SSN 593

Picked this up a while ago. I originally posted it in the "Latest Finds" section but was deleted. So here it is again. The Order Of the Archibenthic, issued to a crewman on the Thresher. This deep dive took place during the builder's trials, ironically very near the position where she was lost two years later. I've never seen or heard of another one of these. Fortunately the recipient transferred off the boat before the sinking. Member aznation provided details of the crewman's service in the original post, wish I had printed it out. I meant to post this yesterday on the anniversary of her loss, but better late than never. RIP Thresher. 

 

PS  If anyone has an original Thresher patch they would be willing to part with I would be very interested.
