manayunkman Posted April 10, 2022 Share #1 Posted April 10, 2022 In my eyes this is quite the spoil. These officers are with the 8th Armored Division Combat Control R and they are just about to enter Czechoslovakia. While in Germany the Colonel found this Steyer and couldn’t live without it so he gets to go see the sights in style. Is that cool or what? manayunkman Posted April 14, 2022 Author Share #7 Posted April 14, 2022 Does anyone know what make roadster this is? The caption in the photo album says Steyer but I can’t find any Steyrs with a grill like this one. It was noted in a separate thread that it was an Italian car but I can’t find a match for that either. Its not earth shattering important but if anyone knows please chime in. GatorDoc Posted May 2, 2022 Share #9 Posted May 2, 2022 Great pictures. That car is too flashy to be a Steyr. Pretty sure it is Italian. Try a late 1930's Lancia. Possibly an Astura that had some of the flashy parts removed( running lights, running boards, etc.) It is pretty close to a 1938 Astura PininFarina but not quite. With Italian cars the different coach builders put their on touches on the car so you would need to dig deeper. And considering the times, it could easily be a one off G
