Aussie-Wings Posted February 20, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 20, 2009 Morning, Question regarding what Aircrew Wing a USAF Technical Sergeant (E6) on flight status would wear (senior or master)? I know it relates to time served and flight hours, but on average what would most of them wear? Thanks, AW.
Teamski Posted February 20, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 20, 2009 The rating of the badge doesn't directly relate to rank. I have seen a ton of TSgts with the basic aircrew badge while others have the master aircrew badge. It all depends on the hours flown. So, you could use any of the three.... I would stick with Senior just as an average..... -Ski

bluemesa159 Posted February 26, 2009 Share #5 Posted February 26, 2009 Straight from AFI 36-2903, the USAF uniform manual. Chapter 5, Section 5.6 Aeronautical and Space Badges "5.6. Aeronautical and Space Badges. For specific award criteria for Aeronautical Badges, refer to AFI 11-402, Aviation and Parachutist Service, Aeronautical Ratings and Badges." Gotta run, but here's the link to AFI 11-402 for you to look up. For other badges, the criteria is a lot more simple... Chapter 5, Section 5.9 Occupational Badges. "5.9.3. Enlisted. Wear the basic badge after completing technical school. Wear the senior badge after award of the 7-skill level, and the master badge as a master sergeant or above with 5 years in the specialty from award of the 7-skill level."
