Hi all,

I acquired these two steel shells in Vietnam at a junk shop a few years back. They have rear seams, stamps on the inside are 0711 and 0143. The 0711 is upside down and on the ride side above right ear swivel. The 0143 is on the left ear side. I'm assuming they were produced during the 60's or 70's simply because they were sitting in a Hanoi junk shop, but just curious if maybe they are earlier or if there is a way to narrow down the date range and manufacturer.

0143 looks like the type of font used by RJ Stampings while 0711 looks like Parish Division of Dana font. Are the numbers the same size or are the numbers 0143 bigger than 0711?

The rear seam at the spot welds, do any of the shells rims curve upwards at the back?

Here’s a picture of a Parish number notice how the 4 is a different font to your 4 in 0143. I’ve compared your numbers to the numbers in my Parish and RJ Stampings shells and I’m confident 0711 is a Parish shell and 0143 is a RJ Stampings.0FFE6F13-0B8F-4E7A-A5C4-BB51D4B5C8EA.jpeg.d4233ba140b1e36fcff11c7363a8d23f.jpeg
