Aloha Everyone,

Scattered on the forum over the years are photos of the visible bomb damage from the December 7th, 1941 attack at Hickam Field.  The shrapnel scars have been deliberately left in sight as a historic reminder of what happened there on a peaceful Sunday morning.

These are photos of the damage that I've taken over time while working at Hickam.

My Father was an air force mechanic during the Korean War, stationed at Hickam. He said part of his barracks was closed off because of an unexploaded Japanese Bomb. I don't know if it was true, but he said that was what they were told.

Neat photos!

Here's a little piece of what caused all of that damage.  My grandfather was stationed there at Hickam Field during the attack.  This is the only enemy souvenir here brought home, didn't like talking about the war much.  The shrapnel is still very sharp

Hangar 79 on ford island still has windows with bullet holes.  Photos from a visit there in 2018.
