Legion of Merit Commander- different types/time period question

Could someone explain the different types and time period of the LOM Commander medals and neck ribbons?

My understanding is:

WWII era- numbered BB&B, with hook neck ribbon

1946-49- 1 snap neck ribbon

1951- Balfour, with beveled edges and 2 snap ribbon

mid fifties to present- 3 snap ribbon

Is the above info correct, partly correct, incorrect?

Correct. BBB being the benchmark. I like the Balfour strikes as the beveled edge gives it a great look, and the enamel is impeccable
