dustin Posted March 27, 2022 Share #1 Posted March 27, 2022 This is a mystery item for me, I assume it is for a fighter aircraft to charge the gun/s while in flight. Does anyone have a more specific answer for this? It's approx. 24-inches long
phantomfixer Posted March 28, 2022 Share #2 Posted March 28, 2022 Fighters, if I recall, had electric charging devices ...maybe for a bomber turret?
robinb Posted March 29, 2022 Share #3 Posted March 29, 2022 That's a firing solenoid, not a charging device, in the second post.

Thanks for that Robin.. looking into it more, I read the P-51 MGs we’re charged on the ground.. assuming this would be the case on all fighters or aircraft where the guns are Inaccessible in flight… so still thinking it’s for a gun turret
M1Garandy Posted March 29, 2022 Share #5 Posted March 29, 2022 Looks familiar, looking for cockpit shots of US Fighters, Attack aircraft or Dive bombers that had forward firing machine guns in the upper or lower cowl would be my first try at locating. Any visible P/N on the handle?
