Kinda rough shape and no paint or cover

cant find much on this helmet so reaching out to help see if this is an issue helmet or dud

Sierra changed the nomenclature from Combat Vehicle crewman to Armored Vehicle Crewman on this helmet...the cut is also different than the standard CVC helmet...

I hate to use the word experimental but it is unpainted...a factory test helmet?

Few more pics…any thoughts? The earphones are held in place by a screw on the outside of the helmet, similar to APH-6 flight helmets

It's a prototype dated circa 1972. According to the sound attenuation and bump protection reports, it didn't do very well in testing. The photos from Natick show it looking just like that, without paint.

I dunno but he knew it was a test helmet, was informed the helmet was listed in a book by Chris Arnold....
