Salvage Sailor

These are worn on the sleeves of enlisted mens jumpers.

 

The top one is missing the center dot - USN Sharpshooter distinguishing mark

 

Center is the unofficial Amphibious Forces (Gators)

 

Bottom is the U.S. Coast Guard shield, worn to differentiate USCG from USN personnel

Here is a USCG officer with the shield on his sleeve (enlisted use it, too, I just couldn't easily find the pic on my hard drive!):

Actually a USCG warrant officer. The single thin braid with blue indicates a warrant officer (thick gold with blue would be a chief warrant officer), as well as the insignia above the shield. A Coast Guard officer would only have the shield device. During WWII there were only two grades of warrant officer. I forget when the additional three were added.
