a friend can have this generator

no plate " us army or engineer corps, just the maker's plate

if it is us army, what could be the era, I find nothing on the net about it

the square fuel tank, if original, would help date it to the late 50s or 60s...just a wag, 1940 era fuel tank are round/cylinder shaped

the covered spark plug/waterproof plug makes me think it is USGI...late 50s or 60s...
