viking73 Posted March 6, 2022 #1 Posted March 6, 2022 Hi Group - Well I just joined the A-7E ejection seat club yesterday as this seat followed me home :) I was very happy that both ejection handles are intact and present as these must be hard to find. Looks like I'm now on the hunt for the proper RSSK seat kit and the NES-12 chute pack, among other bits and pieces. She's a little dirty but will clean up just fine. I really need to find a place to put it hahahaha! I've really enjoyed reading your thread Chris (hink441) on your A-7E seat. Lots of great info there! Here's some photos, thanks for looking as always - -Derek
hink441 Posted March 7, 2022 #2 Posted March 7, 2022 Very nice seat!!! I look forward to seeing how you proceed with your restoration!! I got a lot of parts from flighthelmet.com and plain old eBay. If I can help please let me know. I had a blast doing mine. Be careful of those spring-loaded canopy breakers. They can hurt you if you are near them when they are actuated. Chris
mohawkALSE Posted March 7, 2022 #3 Posted March 7, 2022 The ole "Followed Me Home". That should clean up nice. The Navy RSSK might be the harder part to find. There is a guy on the FB flight gear group who recently posted he has a NES-12 pack for sale sans the risers.
hink441 Posted March 7, 2022 #5 Posted March 7, 2022 Did you see this guy in Texas who bought a few of these seats?? 😂😂
viking73 Posted March 7, 2022 Author #6 Posted March 7, 2022 Thanks for the comments gents. Yes, I am on the lookout for the RSSK kit and NES-12 pack. I'll check the FB group post, thanks T. The canopy breaker are safety wired in place from the gentleman I purchased the seat from. And yes Chris, it did come from the "guy in Texas" with a few seats :) He has them for sale very reasonably priced IMHO so I had to get one (much rolling of my wife's eyes followed - "another seat"?!)! My seat is in those photos somewhere. I am really glad mine has both ejection handles intact as those must be impossible/hard to find items... I didn't realize the lower handle was made out of rubber. I want to clean this one as it's pretty dirty from storage. Would the high pressure rinse at my local car wash harm the decals? I sure don't want to mess them up - perhaps 409 and a lot of rags is the best way to go? Always love to share my recent finds on here with you all! This makes seat number 5 for me :) -Derek
hink441 Posted March 7, 2022 #7 Posted March 7, 2022 Derek you did really well to get one of those seats. I know you paid a lot less than what I did😂😂

hink441 Posted March 7, 2022 #9 Posted March 7, 2022 Yes I know what he was asking for those seats and you got a great deal. 👍👍
mohawkALSE Posted March 8, 2022 #10 Posted March 8, 2022 Imagine if that was Dereks truck and trailer and the reaction his wife would have with all those seats "Following him home"
