elvis3006 Posted March 4, 2022 Share #1 Posted March 4, 2022 I recently purchased a very nice Eastman B3 Sheepskin jacket and was wondering why some of the original B3's had different color trim, Seal brown or Russet brown ? Thank you. Rob
dmar836 Posted March 4, 2022 Share #2 Posted March 4, 2022 Supply lottery I would assume. Some contractors were more known for contrasting skins than others but it appears the later the production the more dark finishes. I think they no longer contracted for more in 1943 so... I really don't think the reinforcing tape color followed this rule though. Just spit balling here. Dave

Gately Posted June 11, 2022 Share #4 Posted June 11, 2022 Keep in mind that the war department had given contracts out to half dozen private companies to make the B-3 . So that being the case there were different variations of tanned colors. As long as it passed government standard specs .
