B3 Sheepskin Jacket question

I recently purchased a very nice Eastman B3 Sheepskin jacket and was wondering why some of the original B3's had different color trim, Seal brown or Russet brown ? Thank you.  Rob

Supply lottery I would assume. Some contractors were more known for contrasting skins than others but it appears the later the production the more dark finishes. I think they no longer contracted for more in 1943 so...

I really don't think the reinforcing tape color followed this rule though. Just spit balling here.

Keep in mind that the war department had given  contracts out to half dozen private companies to make the     B-3 . So that being the case there were different variations of tanned colors. As long as it passed government standard specs .
