digi-shots Posted March 3, 2022 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2022 I’d like some help on these… does the 3-4 prop denote Dakota - Commando aircraft? Would these have been worn by airman for any other aircraft? I need to brush up on which planes had 3 vs 4 props. Were they more commonly seen in one theater than another? Also, as a dui for enlisted they would be worn on lapels… would officers also wear them (on shoulder strap) ? Thanks!
Ray42 Posted March 3, 2022 Share #2 Posted March 3, 2022 The prop design does not denote a specific aircraft to my knowledge I think it is just a variation in design similar to the color and shape of the keystone or arrowhead below it. I think they it was probably random which design the flyer got. And yes officers would have the DUI on the shoulder strap.
tredhed2 Posted March 3, 2022 Share #3 Posted March 3, 2022 +1 on variations and DIs were also worn on overseas caps.
