I just noticed the -10 for the vest refers to the M-201 signal kit as being the standard, which I assume is the Gyrojet version.

The foliage penetrating is for sure the gyrojet. I believe the number they give is just a published misprint.  The other manuals list it as M-260 or the DODIC L-119.  I think my vest -10 also had a misprint for the PRC-90.

Well, it’s not like Army pubs contain errors! The warnings in this -10 also claim flares burn at “5000° F. and can cause serious bums or death.”

Lots of errors for sure in the various printings.  If I recall right all the spots that mention ACR for the company who made the strobe light flash guard and the RT-10 radio is screwed up multiple ways.  Says like AGR and ARC instead of ACR.  The -23 Mx manual for survival kits also has numerous mistakes.

I'm told this SRU-21 belonged to an Apache crewmember in the 101st. Over the last 20+ years I have completed the vest with Desert Storm era components. All it needs is an M9.

Sorry to dredge up this 2-year old post. I was an AH-64 pilot from 1985-91 and our vests were the SRU-21s but didn't have this harness modification. I'm wondering if this was a local/unit thing? I think the SARVIP came out shortly after I left the Army.

I wore the USAF sage green style vest from 1985-~1988. I received the Army OG-106 version sometime in 1988/89 while with VII Corps in Germany.
