Hello everyone.

Just digging thru stuff I collected over the years and found this US garrison belt.

Sharing with the forum in case they would like to catalog markings for future reference. To me, it's a great example.

Length = From the end of the buckle to the end of the tab is 42 inches.

Condition = I found it rolled up in a bag, don't remember when I bought it but I would guess 2005. Leather still good and it's usable in my opinion. Also, it appears not to have been used but I will let the forum decide for themselves.

Markings: On the last picture you should see a small oval outline. Within this oval are the below letters and number as these old eyes see it. Also it appears the oval stamp went over the makers name.

Top  line within oval = Q.M.D.

Second line within oval = JEFF. 1929

Third line within oval = H.E.K.

Below the outline of the oval is the stamp U.S.

Hope this helps anyone who is interested in US Garrison belts from 1929.

If you need a different picture, let me know.

That's a great example of a depot issue Army garrison belt, and a nice size too and it still has the  original keeper with it.  Good markings, color.  At some point someone, most likely the original soldier, punched in three additional holes (not uncommon at all).  The  Army issue belt of this era came with five holes (as opposed to the Marine ones coming with seven holes.)  BTW, it also wasn't uncommon for soldiers and Marines to wear private purchase belts also.

Thanks for sharing!!
