They never heard about the war from her father but do remember seeing this flag at an early age. It stood out to her because of the "blood" on it.

I've had no luck finding him with Fold3. Is there another site ot look through?

Ancestry has some of his USMC muster rolls, where he was and who he was with usually every three months Also, his WWII Draft Registration cards are available. This was from a quick search. Dave

nick named "Short" nothing in the obit mentions USMC  sadly. he had a daughter. I guess they see it as irrelevant, Military Service.

I access Ancestry through my Library for free. Used to have to go to the Library in person, but due to the Pandemic, I can access it from home using my Library Card information. Still a free site then. Dave
