Harper’s Weekly

Good morning guys!

Without sounding too dumb, I wanted to  reach out for some details on my copy of Harper’s Weekly.

This is a repro copy, right? I found it for $2 at an antique store. I’ve seen a few on eBay for a few dollars and they say “original”. If it actually from 1863 it would be in even worse shape, right?

Thanks,

Ryan

It looks like an original to me.  I handled a large collection of these over the last year with many in similar or better condition for their age.

There are many copies of Civil War era Harper's that look like the day they were printed because they have been in bound volumes in librarys for the past hundred and fifty years. Some of the copies were printed on high quality paper and are beautiful.
