Not a helmet collector, but I do have a few M1s. I’ve had this one for a while and it’s the only one with any markings. Interior paint on the shell matches the condition of the liner, so it appears they’ve been together a long time. Picked it up from a very old collection.

It even looks like a Sharpie paint pen drew it on. I'm no expert either, but this is different than any bars I've seen painted on.

Agreed, the "Butter Bar" is a recent addition. The rest of the helmet is pretty awesome though.

I’ve had it for six or seven years but always thought the bar looked a little too fresh. Thanks all.
