W. Hefley Posted February 1, 2022 Share #1 Posted February 1, 2022 Hey everyone! I have this suspected US Navy Seabee Helmet. The Pictures should speak for themselves for this one! I have only been able to find 2 sets of initials reading, "J.H.F." on the liner headband and the interior of the shell. I'm able to review quite a few Navy Seabee Units records that contain rosters during WW2 . If I can just determine what unit this helmet could have belonged to, can then match the initials with someone on the roster potentially ! Would love to see this mystery come to a close and figure out who this sailor was and what he did during the war. Any input would be kindly appreciated ! Thanks in advance -Wyatt P.s. - Inland & (?)48A

Mr.Jerry Posted February 1, 2022 Share #4 Posted February 1, 2022 Very cool- I have a similar one (but different) from a sailor whose job it was to unload the Jeeps and Trucks off of the landing ships at Normandy.

Midwestmk1 Posted February 8, 2022 Share #11 Posted February 8, 2022 That’s an awesome helmet. The saltiness is unquestionable. My great grandpa George was a Seabee in the pacific theater. He landed with the marines on several invasions. Thanks for sharing.
