mrgsmvm Posted January 27, 2022 #3 Posted January 27, 2022 I have seen this award before and know of it but, have no Idea what the qualifications are. Hopefully someone on this site can help out. Sincerely John
mars&thunder Posted January 28, 2022 #4 Posted January 28, 2022 According to Ogletree's book on National Guard awards, this medal was authorized in 1903 but not awarded until 1930, originally for 15 years service, changed in 1955 to a 10 year service requirement. It was discontinued in the 1960's. The older ones were dark bronze, later ones were shiny. Looks like the one you pictured is a hybrid.
Fred Borgmann Posted May 5, 2024 #5 Posted May 5, 2024 Wisc. Long Service Medal 1903-1955 for 15 years service/1955-1973 for 10 years/ 1973- ribbon only but medal can be worn if available. Medal comes in 3 variations and was awarded before 1930 as recorded in WNG AG reports. All listed my book on Wisconsin medals Borgmann- 6 pages 11-12
