Thrifter_01 Posted January 21, 2022 Share #1 Posted January 21, 2022 Found this in an antique store that I had not visited since visiting my folks for the holidays. Am very happy to be the owner of this liner, especially since I'm currently attending the college this likely came from. I'm unsure exactly what type of liner, is scuffed but can still tell it has a glossy look, with damage on the line of it, as well has the remains of a yellow tape. The aggie decals, though scuffed, can still be seen very well. Sadly, the antique store had hung it from the nape strap, separating it from its time hung there. The nape strap was dated to 1956. The headband is Vietnam era, but I am unsure what era the chinstrap is from.
elh1311 Posted January 21, 2022 Share #2 Posted January 21, 2022 It's a P55 liner, produced from 1955 to 1963. The chinstrap is a typical post-WW2 with the DOT snap chinstrap.

TheCrustyBosun Posted January 21, 2022 Share #4 Posted January 21, 2022 This looks like a pot worn by the Fish Drill Team. The FDT was formed during the 1947–48 school year when freshman cadets were relocated to the Brian airfield also known as the Annex. The team has won numerous state and national championships since its formation. The front of the helmet would have an AMC eagle stack brass device mounted through the grommet. My step-brother was a member of the FDT and still has his pot. Nice grab! Gig’em Aggies!!
