Good evening everyone,

I do not collect navy uniforms at all and they all look similar to me. Just want to make sure this one really is WW2 before I buy it. It's named to Peelo on the top as well as the pants. Any info would be much appreciated. Even recommendations on an appropriate price point to pay for this set. Thank you in advance!

Regards,

Jake

Commercially produced uniform “Private Purchase”. These were available from WW2 , into the 1980s. Is the service stripe fully embroidered or is it a red felt stripe sewn to the backing fabric?

@sigsayeI should have taken up close photos of the service stripe and can probably do that in the next day or so when I go back. But if memory serves, I believe it's a red felt stripe sewn to the backing fabric. Sounds like if it's one or the other, it will tell me what era it's from?

Thanks for your reply!

Best,

Jake

The fully embroidered type didn’t come into common use until late 1940s/1950s.

Ok great, good to know. I'll post some more pictures in the next day or so when I go back. Thank you for the information and help.
