MrJitters Posted February 16, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 16, 2009 Is there any difference in value, assuming both are in equal condition, between a shortened M3 scabbard with the REP marking and an "original" M7? Thanx.
bayonetman Posted February 16, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 16, 2009 Probably 75% or more of the people who buy M1 bayonets only want a scabbard that fits. Since both versions are pretty common, most of the rest don't really care. A handful of collectors want a shortened scabbard with a shortened bayonet, and vice versa. All in all, in my personal experience, there is very little difference in collector interest or value between the shortened M7 bayonet and the ones made as such.
