Blackhawk Posted January 10, 2022 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2022 Hi, Today I got these two darkened Mills M1910 cartridges belts. One I is "blanco'd" more decent than the other. On the second one there's quite much paint on it. What do you think about these? Is it ok to use them for an early WW2 PTO setup? Andrew Posted January 11, 2022 Share #3 Posted January 11, 2022 The second belt may have been used by Norway in the post war years. They painted their US webbing like this.

Ray42 Posted January 11, 2022 Share #5 Posted January 11, 2022 The first one looks like it has a USMC name stamped into it so I would try researching it on Ancestory. I’d say it works for early ww2 PTO, and may end up having been used by a marine in that period.
Blackhawk Posted January 12, 2022 Author Share #6 Posted January 12, 2022 Thanks! Yes, there's a typical USMC name stamp on it. Unfortunatly I couldn't find a "C.W. Zittmann" yet. I also got some books to research USMC uniforms and gear and yesterday I found a fitting picture for the M1910 cartridges belt! It was taken at Tinian 1944. (picture taken from " Marine Corps Uniform and Equipment 1941-1945") Best regards, Lukas
