BEAT_NAVY Posted January 10, 2022 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2022 Robert John O'Donnell date of birth 2/28/21 service number 32307106 I posted this on the individual and unit research but it was quickly swept away so I am hoping for better luck here. I know he was stationed in france where he was shot down flying a B-25 but I am looking to find his unit and rank(DD-214 if those were around back then). Thanks in advance! shortsix Posted January 12, 2022 Share #2 Posted January 12, 2022 I've tried multiple searches for this person. Only thing I could find was his draft card and a short obit. The name is a little common and what keeps coming up is a Robert J. O'Donnell that was a navy officer who I know is not your guy. Maybe someone else will have better luck. 29navy Posted January 15, 2022 Share #6 Posted January 15, 2022 I don't believe the US Army Air Forces used B-25s in the ETO.

Actually they were used, although rarely, in the ETO. Used in N. Africa as well as the Mediterranean Theater of Operations (MTO).
