dunmore1774 Posted January 8, 2022 Share #1 Posted January 8, 2022 I found this pic on another post here on the forum (I hope original poster doesn't mind I borrowed it). I noticed the round item on the butt of the Thompson. What is it? Looks like a compass?

doyler Posted January 9, 2022 Share #4 Posted January 9, 2022 Taylor and Superior both made the Engineer wrist compass. They are often called " Airborne" but can find them used by many who were able to get them.
Charlie Flick Posted January 10, 2022 Share #5 Posted January 10, 2022 Probably not a good location for one's compass. There is a lot of steel in that Thompson so I would be concerned about it affecting the accuracy of the magnetic compass. Neat pic. Ryan Reese Posted April 13, 2022 Share #7 Posted April 13, 2022 Funny how history repeats itself… I’ve seen plenty of guys attach their Garmin (wrist GPS’s) to their butt stock.
