willysproject Posted January 3, 2022 Share #1 Posted January 3, 2022 Hi, WW2 is my main field, but I'm interested to learn more on good CW items too. Would you give this buckle the thumbs up? Kind regards, Gerd V

VMI88 Posted January 3, 2022 Share #3 Posted January 3, 2022 The Confederate Army never issued an oval buckle that looked like this - it's just basically a knock-off based on the standard US-issue buckle. There were a couple of patterns of genuine CS oval buckles but they were crude compared to this one and very rare. The dimensions are also different. You'd never mistake one of them for this one. daniel griffin Posted January 4, 2022 Share #4 Posted January 4, 2022 The tongue has been torn off because it was stamped "Replica".
