My first M7 bayonet was given to me as a Christmas present from a co-worker, still in box and sealed inner packaging.

Those CMP M7's are a good deal. I own a number of them. FYI, that contract number is a late Vietnam period Imperial, might save you from opening the sealed package..

Not to hijack the thread but are the CMP still selling these?  Would love to get my hands on one.

I looked briefly and didn’t see anything.

Well I just now checked their E-Store, I could not find them. I ordered 2 on 12/27/21, they are shipping tomorrow and arriving Wednesday.

I have been told that they come in and out of stock, I would keep trying maybe even contact CMP.

Keep checking the e-store, the bayonets have their own tab at the top of the e-store front page. If the tab is missing, it means they are out of stock. This has been going on for the past several months. They will go out of stock for a few days, then they show back in stock.  The price has not changed in several years, right now, $42.00 for a new in box USGI bayonet is a killer deal. If you buy 3 ($126.00) then you get free shipping as well. Buy them to collect, use, or future trading material. You cannot go wrong.

Just realize that you need to meet their requirements to order… not sure on the surplus stuff, but I think it’s the same as rifles. So marksmanship activity, club affiliation, citizenship, etc.

could be wrong, but I think they will not just “sell” them to anyone with a credit card

Correct, you can substitute military service for marksmanship activities with your DD-214, if I recall they keep this info  for 3 years, so you don’t need to send in each time. I think the customer number they give you tells them that

Another option is to join the M1 Garand Collectors club. Its $25 a year. That waives the club and prior service options.

Just an FYI, the CMP M7's are back in stock as of the time/date of this post, if anybody was wanting to order.

The GCA is $25 a year, the M1 Collectors Club is $14 for 14 months , these do not waive the club options but full fills these requirements as it is a club

You do need to be a member of a club to buy the bayonets.  When I was there in July for the National Match Pistol Matches, They had me sign up for a club so I did the GCA.  Since I was there for the Match and then signed up for the GCA, I was allowed to purchase the bayonet.   I wish i bought 2 of those bayonets now, I still didn't open the one I bought in July.

Not what the CMP says, but the GCA is specifically an affiliated club. They are also back in stock as of today
