Tank crew helmet, US made but unknown use

Hello

Here is my last tank crew helmet. It's US made (SOFTSEAL, Oregon). But was it in use in US Army or in another country? The plug looks weird for a US use.

The ear cups are US made, the helmet itself is almost surely not US military related. From memory that helmet is a British military crew helmet, but as it's foreign mil it's not my area so it'd be best to look into it and confirm.

There isn't any label or marking, exept the one on the ear cup.

The helmet looks british, but the painting and plug are different. And there is no strap on my helmet.

A european clone?
