Please Help ID Oval Eagle Wool Patch

This patch was found in a small men's travel jewelry box.  There were some assorted WWII pins and this patch.  It's a used patch showing old stitching holes and thread.  Any ideas on this eagle?  Does its construction provide some clues?  It measures approximately 2 1/4 inches wide and 2 inches tall.  For a hat?  Thanks for the help.

Is there any way you could add a shot of the other items that were with it? That could help.

I'm still working on buying the group.  If I remember correctly, there were common EGA pins but there was a WWII Bakelite EGA.  I think there was a ruptured duck.  Nothing unusual or uncommon.  This patch was the one thing that stood out.  Thanks.

Someone told me they thought it was for an Eagle Squadron (US Pilots in England early in the war).  I snagged this pic off the Net.
