Does anyone have a source for photos of an original?

Saw this one but no idea if original or not?

No manufacturer's marking on inside.

Z,

The two books that come to mind off hand that show the Thompson cases like this one are  "Doughboy to GI, US Army Clothing and Equipment 1900-1945" by Kenneth Lewis (A member here) page 199 and "Government Issue, US Army European Theater of Operations Collector's Guide" by Henri Pual Enjames, page 96.

I checked Bruce Canfield's Book on WW2 Infantry Weapons but the Thompson case was not included.

It looks alright but I am not an authority on weapon's cases..

Hope these help

Best regards, stay safe

If that's not an original it's got me fooled. Material, zipper, stitching are all spot on. I've got an original at my shop I'll take some pics of for you. It may be tomorrow or Saturday

thanks to you both!  two missing things:  the nice musty GI stuff smell and a maker's mark inside...

I'd like to see pix, pls.

These are made of the same waxed canvas material as the bags that go over the universal rifle carrier. It's very much a piece of vehicle equipment. If you're looking for that 'smell' these have got it x10.
