I was going to say 2nd Niguraguan also but the white stripes do not match up,

Nicaragua would be good, supposedly that is where the Navy Cross was awarded. This is all to help me with the ribbons on this different Marine on the left which I have trying to figure out. Picture taken in 1944. I think the last one on the pic I just posted is China Service? Thanks to you both.

Marine Officer on the left - top row - L to R - Purple Heart, Navy PUC (upside down)

 

Bottom row L to R - American Defense with Star (for BASE Bar), American Theatre, AP Theatre with 2 stars for Guadalcanal

Sorry, I miswrote, should have written the Marine on the right. The Marine on the left is my father, his SS is hidden by the lapel. Other star for Cape Gloucester. What do you think of the ribbons of the man on the right? Trying to ID him.

Hello

Nice pictures which got me thinking about the date the USMC GC medal was moved from after campaign ribbons to it's present position. Was it during or after WW2

An exact date would be useful to know
