Hi Salvage sailor, yes I think when I was a child that scared the proverbial out of me, it's been many-many years since I watched it. I will have to try and catch it again if I can to try and find why the hand crank hole in the front bumper is different to a standard wartime circular hole. cheers lewis .. That's not sterling Haydon that's Robert Ryan standing in the left. I don't remember sterling Haydon in that movie.

A great shot of a great film icon, pretty much enjoyed all of his films through the years, Kelly's Hero's for a film with an amount of comedic input did really well on the authenticity of the uniforms, equipment and vehicles. I have an original cinema poster of Kelly's Heroes . . regards lewis. .

And another one, the wartime Queen of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland . . . . . . . . . God save the Queen. regards lewis. .. . re-looking at the above photo I realised I knew the name of the officer sat next to the Queen. He appears in a book I have called ' Jeeps & Jests ' by Bruce Bairnsfather, it's a cartoon look at the life of the first US troops based in Ireland in 1942 and Major General Russell P Hartle was the commanding officer. Bairnsfather's drawing of him is very realistic to the above photo image. The copy I have was a Christmas gift in 1943 to his aide d'camp, unfortunately the surname is not very clear. Excuse the wrench on the third photo it was simply to hold the page flat. . . . regards lewis. ...
