Thrifter_01 Posted December 11, 2021 Share #1 Posted December 11, 2021 To make a long story short, found this helmet in an estate sale pictures and gunned for it. The liner is missing, save for the damaged leather chinstrap and appears from WW1. The helmet is painted, but is painted with art from WW2. Interestingly, the three well known figures appear to have been glued on, cut out from a paper, which sadly has seen some deterioration. Regardless, I am happy to say that this is my first m1917 and painted helmet in one.

Was told on going back that the estate was home to a local artist, but out of respect of privacy they couldn't tell the person's name.
