USAT Dorchester KIA Purple Heart

Humbled to be new care taker of this historic heart! 
he was from Germantown Section of Philadelphia and worked at local movies theater as a teen ! He gave all his tomorrows for his country.  Sunk by U-223 off the coast of Greenland.

He is listed as just army on memorial but i found online he was  listed as army air corps ? So no solid answer yet ? as a side note 

the  numbers on the purple are in the number range of the few other Dorchester PHs shown on the forum.

 

is there any records or rosters of the units on the Dorchester? I  always assume some were going to Greenland to build and airbase and some were being sent to England ?
